Talking Therapies

Relationship challenges are a deeply human experience. Whether sparked by major life transitions, differing outlooks, or unmet individual needs, conflict in our most important relationships can create a ripple effect of distress and insecurity across our entire lives.

Inclusivity at the Heart of My Practice: I believe that every significant connection deserves a safe space to grow. I work with all relationship structures and identities, including:

  • Couples: Marriages, partnerships, heterosexual, and LGBTQ+ connections.

  • Non-Sexual Relationships: Friendships, siblings, and parent-child dynamics.

The discovery of an affair or a significant crisis can feel like a relational earthquake. It brings intense pain, confusion, and conflict, and navigating this safely requires a steady, compassionate hand.

My approach is interactive and collaborative. I don’t just listen; I actively facilitate a respectful, engaging environment where you can both approach difficult subjects - from intimacy and sexual concerns to parenting, conflict, and the complexities of separation.

A Phased Approach

In these situations, our work is phased to prioritise your stability:

  • Phase 1 - Stabilisation & Regulation: Our first priority is managing the immediate emotional impact. We focus on emotional regulation and practical steps to protect the relationship and lower the "temperature" of the crisis.

  • Phase 2 - Understanding & Context: Once a baseline of safety is established, we begin to explore the deeper context and the factors that led to the crisis. This is not about blame, but about gaining the clarity needed to heal.

  • Phase 3 - Healing & Rebuilding: In the final phase, we work together to develop healthier relationship patterns and shared goals, helping you move forward with integrity—whatever your ultimate decision may be.

A Note on Safety: I regret that I am unable to work with couples where there is active domestic violence, intense substance misuse, or ongoing safeguarding issues. These situations require specialised intervention, and should they arise, I will support you in finding the appropriate specialist services.
